How I Work – Architectural & Commercial Photography
My goal is to create striking, timeless images that reflect the design intent, atmosphere, and character of a space. This guide outlines what to expect before, during, and after a shoot, and ensures a smooth, collaborative process.
Pre-Booking & Planning
- Consultation: Before confirming, we’ll discuss your project goals, brand, and intended image usage. This helps define the creative direction and deliverables.
- Proposal & Agreement: A tailored proposal will outline scope, fees, usage rights, and turnaround times.
- Scheduling: Dates are agreed in advance, taking into account daylight conditions, site readiness, and project deadlines.
- Preparation: Styling, props, or cleaning should be arranged by the client unless otherwise agreed. I can recommend stylists if required.
On the Day of the Shoot
- Walkthrough & Planning: I’ll review the site with you (or your representative) to identify priority angles and compositions.
- Collaboration: We may adjust furniture, lighting, or details to best present the space. This is done in close collaboration with the architect, designer, or marketing team.
- Photography: Images are captured with a focus on design details, craftsmanship, and storytelling, often using advanced lighting techniques or composite methods.
- Additional Media: Drone, video, or 360° imagery can be arranged as add-ons if required.
After the Shoot
- Editing: Each image is carefully edited for accuracy, consistency, and visual impact. This includes colour correction, perspective adjustments, and advanced retouching where needed.
- Turnaround: Delivery is typically within 5–10 working days, depending on project scale.
- Delivery Format: Files are supplied via a secure online gallery, usually as high-resolution JPEGs or TIFFs. Other formats can be arranged.
- Licensing: Images are licensed for agreed uses (e.g., website, PR, print, awards submissions). Extended or exclusive usage can be discussed.
